Elizabeth has been playing old-time fiddle for many years, traveling with her family to the Appalachian region almost every summer to visit and learn from traditional fiddle players. She has specialized in the music of eastern Kentucky, learning from the fiddler and collector Bruce Greene. She has studied dulcimer with Bruce’s musical partner, Don Pedi, and has learned old ballads from Sheila Kay Adams.
Tobias has been playing fiddle and banjo for over a decade and spent several weeks in West Virginia learning from players knee-to-knee in the old way. Although both Elizabeth and Tobias play with string bands, Elizabeth with her family band, Feleboga, and Tobias with the Turf Rollers, they welcome the opportunity to return to the roots of old-time music, as it was played on the front porch long ago.
Thor och Olle, två unga, hängivna och skickliga multiinstrumentalister, tar med oss på en fartfylld resa där mångfald bara är förnamnet. På bouzouki, munspel, durspel, säckpipa, flamencogitarr och triangel får vi uppleva en uppsjö av olika folkmusikkulturer från jordens södra trakter. Resan går över dramatisk festmusik och flamenco från våra Medelhavstrakter, via grekisk fiskarmusik och en fransk säckpipslöt, vidare bort mot röjig blues, cajun och country från Lousianas träskmarker. Publiken bjuds in i medryckande refränger och rytmer där alla kan vara med. Till slut landar vi hemma igen, i en svensk folkmusiklåt, som väver in musikaliska minnen från resans tidigare stopp.
Thor Ahlgren är multiinstrumentalisten som briljerar i en rad genrer: olika former av grekisk folkmusik, medeltida musik, fransk säckpipsmusik, cajun från amerikanska södern samt keltisk och svensk folkmusik. Med banden Alligator Gumbo, Pøbel och Opa! har han rönt stor framgång under många år både inom Norden och internationellt. Thor spelar säckpipa, folkflöjter, grekisk bouzouki och durspel och är utbildad vid musikhögskolan i Göteborg och i Grekland.
Olle Pelayo Lind är specialiserad på den ovanliga kombinationen munspel och flamencogitarr. Med flamenco och svensk folkmusik som hemmaplan gör Olle ofta och gärna utflykter till en rad andra folkmusikgenrer såsom old time blues, samba, finsk folkmusik och grekisk musik. Olle är utbildad i svensk folkmusikgitarr och klassisk gitarr vid musikhögskolan i Göteborg och Ingesund och i flamenco i Spanien. Olle spelar också med bland andra flamencogitarristen Jonathan Bondesson och den finsk-svenska folkmusikgruppen The Original Swedish Arvika Blues Breakers.
