SFJAZZ High School All-Stars Jazz Orchestra at SFJAZZ Spring Festival at Jewish Community Center of San Francisco

For their Spring Season performance, the SFJAZZ High School All-Stars Jazz Orchestra will feature unique works of jazz greats such as Benny Golson (“Killer Joe”) and Tadd Dameron (“If You Could See Me Now,” “Lady Bird”). While these names may not be household American Idols, jazz musicians and fans alike are profoundly intimate with and highly respectful of their works. Exceptional arrangements for big band of these and other jazz composers — whose contributions are essential to the jazz lexicon — will be featured, as well as original penned manuscripts from Dizzy Gillespie.
