About

La Sierra University's Pierce Street Jazz concert series will feature noted vibraphonist, Rev. Norm Freeman on Wed., July 15. Rev. Freeman's performance credits include those with the New York Philharmonic, Barbara Streisand concert tours, Jessye Norman, Kathleen Battle, the New York Pops, numerous Broadway shows, the New York premiere of Paul McCartney's "Standing Alone," and the Grammy-winning New York Philharmonic recording of Gustav Mahler's "Symphony No. 3 in D Minor" conducted by Leonard Bernstein. Freeman, who holds music degrees from the famed Juilliard School in New York, is also an ordained Episcopal priest whose jazz vespers at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Riverside, Conn. resulted in a New York Times feature article. On the West Coast, Rev. Norman served as vicar and chaplain from 2000-2006 at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Isla Vista, home of the Episcopal Campus Ministry to the University of California, Santa Barbara....
