Eminent Brazilian percussionist Mayuto Correa, a multi-talented artist in several fields, will bring his high-energy performance to La Sierra University’s Troesh Conference Center in a Pierce Street Jazz series concert.
Correa will play an array of percussion instruments as well as guitar with a trio of seasoned jazz industry musicians on Wed., April 1 at 7 p.m. Joining him are bassist Henry “the Skipper” Franklin, pianist Theo Saunders and drummer Ramon Banda.
Correa, a renowned musician, composer, arranger, conductor, musical director and producer has for more than three decades pursued his various interests with wide success, amassing a long roster of credits that includes recording sessions and concerts with Cannonball Adderley, Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra, Harry Belafonte, Gerald Albright, Kirk Whalum, Trini Lopez, Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Michael Jackson and many other famous acts. ...
