Iris Ornig is recognized as a gifted instrumentalist, a talented composer and arranger, and a charismatic performer. Aside from her many original compositions, she arranged a full program of Michael Jackson hit songs as jazz pieces to honor the King of Pop. In another project, she put Burt Bacharah’s classic hits through a creative jazz filter, bringing new life to each composer’s work. Her own original compositions, many captured on recordings have been called “swinging, stormy, melodic, sensitive, playful, angular and passionate”.
