ISIM was founded in 2005 to galvanize the growing community of practitioners whose work is predicated on spontaneous creativity and draws from wide-ranging creative, cultural and disciplinary influences. Often defying stylistic categorization, this emergent wave of creative expression is often referred to simply as “improvised music.”
