A respected teacher and general inspiration, this local legend remains a beacon of hard-won virtuosity and open-eared creativity. Garzone is currently teaching at the Berklee College of Music. He has pioneered the triadic chromatic approach and noted students of his have included Joshua Redman, Branford Marsalis, Teodross Avery, Luciana Souza, Mark Turner, Donny McCaslin, Doug Yates and Danilo Perez, to name a few.
