Kirk’s album Vista Obscura, which features Pat LaBarbera alongside Harold Mabern, Neil Swainson and André White, won the 2015 Juno Award for Jazz Album of the Year. His newest release (and 15th as leader) Generations again features Mabern, and also debuts Kirk's daughter, rising star clarinetist Virginia MacDonald....
