Founder of jazz/hip-pop group, Impromp2 and former music director of The Temptations have made Johnny Britt a musical sensation. This month, Johnny Britt, singer, songwriter, trumpeter, composer, producer and #1 Billboard for Contemporary Jazz artist will now be bringing his international show to South Phoenix. Now a tradition, the Jazz Festival is taking it to the next level, celebrating culture with jazz and a one-of-a-kind experience. SMCC Jazz Ensemble, SMCC Latin Jazz Band and other local artists will also be performing at the Jazz Festival in an effort to unite the community through a soulful experience. “It’s a very unique, free event for the community at South Mountain, we have organized this festival every year, making this a magical experience for all who attend and enjoy the soulful sound of jazz” said Dr. Jerome Garrison, faculty professor for more than 25-years. “It’s an honor to have Johnny Britt as our guest, supporting a local event and helping unite a wider community.”...
