Tribute To Grant Green at University Of South Carolina-upstate

On Thursday, October 11th, Adam Knight and USC Upstate are excited to present a Grant Green Tribute Concert. Much-loved and often overlooked jazz guitarist, Grant Green, will be honored by accomplished regional guitarists, including Adam Knight, Monty Craig, Matt Dingledine, Tim Fischer, and Troy House. The featured guitarists will perform some of their favorite tunes from Green’s extensive catalog, celebrating his compositions and his unique and soulful playing style. Green’s music ranged from classic 1960s Blue Note swing and hard bop, through 1970s soul and funk.
The guitarists will be supported by a formidable rhythm section including Shannon Hoover (bass), Lovell Bradford (piano/organ) and Tim Blackwell (drums). The concert will also feature the USC Upstate Guitar Ensemble. This performance is free for all students and USC Upstate faculty/staff with ID and $5 for the general public.
