French guitarist Stephane Wrembel and guests celebrate the music of Django Reinhardt

Now in its 12th edition, the festival started by Stephane Wrembel has grown into a major event that takes the music of Django Reinhardt as a starting point and celebrates the constant evolution of Gypsy Jazz. The concert's repertoire follows the Django canon and veers into re-interpretation, improvisation and interplay between musicians from various backgrounds.

This year, Wrembel is bringing to the U.S. a world-class team of French guitarists to join him on stage: Simba Baumgartner (Reinhardt’s great grandson, who will celebrate the show with the release of his debut CD, Les Yeux Noirs), Raphael Fays, Serge Krief, David Gastine, Ezeckiel Krief and Lior Krief. Additional guitarists Josh Kaye, Thor Jensen and additional performers Daisy Castro (violin), David Langlois (washboard/percussion), Ari Folman-Cohen (double bass), and Nick Anderson (drums) will comprise the amazing array of talent on the legendary stage of The Town Hall. ...
