Grammy nominated drummer, producer, bandleader, composer and arranger Gerry Gibbs leads his popular Thrasher Trio. Born in New York City, Gibbs grew up in Southern California and started playing the drums (a gift from Buddy Rich) at 4 years old. By the time he was 7, he had already appeared on various TV shows. The son of noted vibraphonist and bandleader Terry Gibbs, Gerry has forged his own path working with many of the biggest names in jazz history. Besides leading his own bands, projects and studio productions, Gerry has performed, recorded and toured with a who’s who in jazz, funk, electronic and world music, among them: McCoy Tyner, Alice Coltrane, Stanley Clarke, Joe Henderson, Hubert Laws, James Moody, Dewey Redman, Eddie Harris, Brad Mehldau, Parliament Funkadelic, and  electronic music pioneer Flying Lotus, among many others.
