The 2018 Arkansas Jazz Festival - presented by the Arkansas Jazz Educators Association (arjazzed.org, arkansasjazzeducators.com) - will be held on Friday, 20 April and Saturday, 21 April in Dardanelle (two stages at/near the gazebo on Front Street), Little Rock (River Market pavilions behind Ottenheimer Hall), and Van Buren (farmers' market pavilion in Freedom Park). The free, family-friendly festival includes concerts (30-60 minutes each) by a total of 5 jazz bands from Arkansas colleges/universities and 36 jazz bands from Arkansas high/junior high/middle schools. Performance schedules and local maps are provided via event and venue links within six separate Jazz Near You entries (one for each date at each site), which can be shared by e-mail/other social media. The two-day performance schedule for Little Rock is shown below. SPECIAL NOTE: The River Market pavilions adjoin the north side of Ottenheimer Hall (400 President Clinton Avenue) in downtown Little Rock's River Market district; food and beverages can be purchased from the Hall's vendors (7am-6pm) and nearby restaurants.
