About

Michael Feinstein’s Jazz & Popular Song series continues with a celebration of Australian song-and-dance man Peter Allen— “The Boy from Oz”—whose hit songs were the soundtrack of a generation. Under the direction of Executive Producer Liza Minnelli, Allen’s former wife, Feinstein and a glittering roster of special guests will revisit such classics as “I Go To Rio,” “I Honestly Love You,” “Don’t Cry Out Loud,” and the Academy Award-winning theme song from Arthur, “Best That You Can Do.” This concert will bring to life the joy, excitement, and pure heart that were hallmarks of Allen’s live performances. The New York Times once described his voice as “the pop music equivalent of a dry Manhattan with a twist of bitters,” whose music “conjures a Manhattan skyline fantasy of sophistication and romance…” Thanks to the 90-foot-tall wall of windows directly behind the stage in our spectacular Appel Room, you’ll enjoy a stunning view of the actual Manhattan skyline while Feinstein leads this properly glamorous 75th birthday tribute to Peter Allen.
