Originally from Italy, they started performing together while still attending school at “Accademia Internazionale Della Musica” in Milano, being part of different musical projects with some of the best Italian jazz musicians. Thru the years, their solid friendship and artistic bound lead them to share a similar taste in exploring music. The two musicians’ assets and attitudes inspire each other to look at the music from new perspectives. The duo choses a repertoire which picks in the tradition and majesty of the American Songbook, while creating a sound which distinctly deviates from it and brings out a fresh and audacious approach. EMERALDO’s minimalistic arrangements are open to a wide range of possibilities of interpretations and unexpected turns, keeping the listener on the edge of curiousity, stretching their musical sensibility out of confort zone, but always keeping roots in semplicity and sponteneity.
