Dot Jazz: Nina Ott Trio at Peabody Hall, Parish Of All Saints

Greater Ashmont Main Street and Mandorla Music Series are very pleased to co-present the 2019-2020 Dot Jazz Series at Peabody Hall in the Parish of All Saints Ashmont. Dot Jazz will take place on the second Thursday of the month from September 2019 until May 2020, with the exception of April when we'll be on the third Thursday. Doors will open at 7pm.

Our January concert will feature organist Nina Ott and her band. Nina was born into a musical family in Detroit, and started studying piano at age 7. After majoring in classical piano performance in college, she moved to Boston to study jazz under Charlie Banacos and Jerry Bergonzi...

After majoring in classical piano performance in college, she moved to Boston to study jazz under Charlie Banacos and Jerry Bergonzi. After a few years in Boston working with the White Heat Swing Orchestra, she headed to Chicago, where among other things she was a house keys player for late night jams at the legendary Green Mill. More recently her musical travels in Boston and San Francisco have taken her deep into Afro-Caribbean musical traditions.
